Top bands at Paskong Pinoy

Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) will mount a rocking Paskong Pinoy as top bands take the Star Theater stage in Tugtog ng Pasko on Dec. 9 to 13 at Star City.

Rivermaya, Sugarfree, Sandwich and True Faith guest in the elimination nights for the choral competitions, with Bamboo set to bring down the house.

The concert series is MBC’s treat for Star City visitors and audiences who will watch the groups in the children’s choir competition and the open category vie for the P100,000 grand prize in each division.

Visitors to the amusement park will also witness the grand display of giant Filipino lanterns in the Ilaw ng Pasko competition. Support from Smart Communications, Unilever, Biogesic for Kids, Alaska, Dunkin’ Donuts, M. Lhuillier, Elasto Seal and Yakult will help complete the sights and sounds of a truly Filipino Christmas.

On Dec. 5, 7:30 p.m. at the Aliw Theater, Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang featuring Lisa Macuja-Elizalde and Ballet Manila with guest Luz Fernandez will have its world premiere. Other performances are set on Dec. 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14. Original music by Ryan Cayabyab.
