Magic 89.9 DJs host Jim Beam tilt

Magic 89.9’s late-night radio show DJs Tony Toni, Slick Rick and Sam YG, known as Boys Night Out, are set to host the Jim Beam Ignition 2008 rock band competition.

Ignition 2008 is the hottest rock band search for all aspiring musicians who, like Jim Beam, are passionate and possess a strong sense of character.

This year, the American spirit continues to ignite passion for true rock music with Jim Beam Ignition 2008; more dynamite than ever and with a new twist. Forty select bands from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao flocked to hosting bars and rocked their hearts out in Open Mic competition.

Finalists Aztek, Pancake 80, F.I.O., Pinas, Emerge, Fervent and Heart String will battle it out for the cash prize of P100,000 and a Jim Beam guitar trophy in the Ignition Grand Finals hosted by Magic 89.9’s Boys Night Out today at Makati’s Hard Rock Café.

“Through rock music you declare who you are and what you can do,” says Pinggoy Agregado, brand manager for Jim Beam. “This year’s Ignition is bound to jumpstart careers and be a blast.”
