And now, E-Heads the movie

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo -

If you were one of the 60,000 fans who, last Aug. 30, braved the traffic and stood at the The Fort Bonifacio Open Field for hours, all for the love of the Eraserheads who were staging their reunion concert, then you should watch the filmed coverage of the event which will be shown in theaters in Metro Manila and Cebu starting Wednesday, Nov. 26. Who knows, the cameras might have caught you and your companions swooning.

Presented by Smart Buddy, Eraserheads Reunion Concert The Movie captures the highlights of the much-awaited event rudely interrupted when vocalist Ely Buendia suffered chest pains and breathing difficulty during the intermission: The state-of-the-art sounds and lights, the magnificent fireworks display, the E-Heads hits performed on a stage that cost P40-million to build and, most important of all, the happy-turned-sad faces of E-Heads fans who reacted to the announcement of the concert being cut short not with disapproval but with quiet prayer.

More than a reunion, the concert healed the rift among the four estranged members, also including Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro. Due to protests against the cigaret company sponsoring it lodged with the Department of Health, the concert almost didn’t happen, but thanks to Francis Lumen’s company and SonyBMG (which is releasing the soundtrack) which saved the day for E-Heads fans.

Asked in a recent interview if they’re going to hold another reunion concert, Ely Buendia said, “It is possible.”

Meanwhile, enjoy the movie.

The ‘Sisa’ in Jodi

Because she bagged the Best Actress award at the recent (10th) Cinemanila International Films Festival, under the Digital Lokal category, for her performance as the title role in Sisa, Jodi Santamaria is jokingly asked by friends if she has a “wild” side.

A character in Dr. Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere, Sisa has been played by other actresses: Anita Linda in the 1952 Gerry de Leon film, Lina Cariño in El Filibusterismo (also by de Leon), Tetchie Agbayani in an Eddie Romero film and Aya Medel in a Mario O’Hara film.

“I was aggressive when I was younger,” admitted Jodi, now Mrs. Pampi Lacson by whom she has a three-year-old son. “Motherhood has helped me tone down.”

To be seen next in Cinemabuhay’s Cul de Sac (with Sam Milby and Chin-Chin Gutierrez, directed by Juan Miguel Sevilla), Jodi said that she’s glad that Pampi is supportive of her.

“There are no limitations as far as my choice of roles is concerned.”

Jodi is the endorser of Gluta-C beauty products.

“I endorse it because I believe in it,” said Jodi. “Several weeks before I signed the contract, I tested the product and it does work.”
