Robin in tip-top shape

The Philippine Star

If there’s a turning point in Robin Padilla’s life recently, it’s his decision to live healthy because of his family.

“I want to see my children and grandchildren grow up,” says the Joaquin Bordado star of the 180-degree turn in his lifestyle. “I also want to see how my race will thrive.”

The road to a clean living, however, has never been an easy road to take. Robin had to change old habits like drinking alcohol and eating fatty food. It’s like fighting the demon inside you everyday.

“Anything is possible for as long as your heart is in it and you know yourself,” says Robin, touted as the last action star of the movies and television. Robin has officially bid his Bad Boy image goodbye and is now an ambassador of health.

The father of four is the perfect man to endorse Liveraide Silymarin Capsule. Executives of Herbs and Nature Corp., maker of My-Marvel Taheebo, Fitrum Liveraide and 4G Anti-oxidants, says they tapped the actor for his impressive credentials as a father and an actor. He has been a good provider to wife Liezl and kids and assumes full responsibility for his health. He has fulfilled his responsibilities on top of his hectic work schedules like taping for GMA 7’s Joaquin Bordado and shooting his latest movie Ikaw Pa Rin... Bongga Ka Boy, opposite Ai-Ai delas Alas. The Viva Films movie is now showing in theaters. Iza Calzado, Judy Ann Santos, Eddie Garcia and Charlene Gonzales also endorse Herbs and Nature’s other products.

“It was never a package deal, although it was Iza who introduced me to it by giving me some,” says Robin of his latest endorsement since fellow Kapuso star and leading lady, Iza, is the other face of the all-natural food supplement brand.

“She has lost some poundage. Tito Eddie gets stronger each day. I’m happy to do this because it encourages everyone to have good health. Besides, we have to be strong against today’s health threats like having preservatives in the food we eat. If we spend much money on material things, why can’t we find time and focus our energy on our health?”

Eating the right food (and taking vitamins and food supplements) is just a step to a healthy life, says Robin. One has to engage in sports like Muay Thai and taekwondo and hit the gym to burn those bad fats and calories. His interest on Muay Thai has rubbed on daughters Kylie and Queenie. They attend training and compete in Thailand.

Robin adds having a positive outlook and doing something good for others also make a difference. Since he became a devout Muslim few years back, Robin has supported our Muslim brothers by coming up with yearly activities like funding their inter-faith school. This advocacy has humbled and motivated him to reach out to those in need. But what keeps him sane is Robin’s relationship with Someone up there.

The day doesn’t pass without Robin saying a little prayer.

“You have to be mentally, emotionally and spiritually healthy to function well,” shares Robin. “But all of this boils down to one thing: Having a healthy body.”
