Alicia Keys at Big Dome Aug. 5

Fans can expect an edgier and sexier Alicia Keys when she returns for a concert at the Araneta Coliseum on Aug. 5, produced by MTV Philippines and Music Management International.

Alicia has gained the respect of millions of music lovers all over the world with her own original compositions. She has sold over 25 million albums worldwide as of 2007 and has received numerous awards including 11 Grammys, 11 Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards and 14 NAACP Image Awards.

Did you know that at age seven, Alicia (full name: Alicia J. Augello-Cook) already began playing the piano, learning classical pieces such as Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin, that’s why she chose Keys as her stage name? Her debut studio album, Songs in A Minor, sold over 10 million copies worldwide. That established Keys’ popularity both inside and outside US where she also became the best-selling new artist of 2001. She followed it with The Diary of Alicia Keys which sold over 618,000 copies worldwide, making Keys the sixth biggest-selling female artist and the album the second biggest-seller by a female R&B artist.

Alicia did it again last year with her third studio album, As I Am, which debuted at No. 1 on the charts. The lead single, No One, was an instant hit and earned her the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song at the Grammy Awards this year.

Besides Alicia Keys, also scheduled to perform at the Araneta Coliseum is SONICFLOOd, on June 13, with another show at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City on June 14.
