Ai-Ai files charges vs convenience store

-

It was not funny at all.

Ai-Ai de las Alas is filing a case of child abuse against a convenience store on P. Noval St., Sampaloc, Manila, right across UST where her 16-year-old son Sancho is studying.

Ai-Ai told The STAR that the cashier of Mini Stop punched her son twice in the stomach and then detained him in the stock room for 10 minutes after accusing him of shop-lifting two packs of Mentos candy last Dec. 4.

“My son told me about it only now maybe because he was afraid,” said Ai-Ai in tears. “Sancho told me that after he got the Mentos, he was trying to call a friend who was leaving the store and that’s when the cashier grabbed him by the collar and accused him of trying to run away with the Mentos. After he was punched, he said that the cashier challenged him to a fight before pushing him into the stock room. Sancho said that he wasn’t shop-lifting and even showed the cashier his wallet. Then, he said, ‘I’m the son of Ai-Ai de las Alas and I won’t do anything to destroy her name,’ and showed his ID. Diyos ko naman, dalawang packet ng Mentos, nanakawin ng anak ko!”  RICKY LO
