What Say has to say

-
Say Alonzo was calm and collected when she heard the news that Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Season Two evictee Zeke Dimaguila said in an interview that she is ugly. At that time, Say had no time to get annoyed by such a careless remark as she covered Studio 23’s Barkada Gimik in Palau.

No matter how demeaning the statement was, Say just shrugged it off — and let it pass.

"It’s his opinion," reacts Say on Zeke’s blunt judgment of her mestiza-Oriental features.

"Everyone is entitled to his opinion. And I’m not affected by it," adds Say.

Zeke commented in another interview that he doesn’t know the PBB Season One alumnae and she has to prove herself.

For the second time around, Say feels Zeke went overboard and she has to say her piece. Remember: One is enough. Two is too much. Three is, you know what.

"Why should I prove myself to him?" Say wonders aloud. "He is not my manager to demand such a thing. That’s really off."

Looking at the issue in different angles, Say has the right to come to fore and defend herself.

The former PBB housemate has proven her mettle and shown what she can offer to local tinseltown in barely two years.

After her stint on PBB, Say hosted PBB Buzz and PBB Celebrity Edition Update and Uplate, appeared on PBB Drama and Super Inggo, and starred in Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Zee Mooveh and Gigil.

Recently, she and Sam Milby went to Milan and Dubai for a series of TFC shows.

In the coming months, the most successful PBB Season One female housemate will be busy as she takes the challenge of QTV 11’s Stars on Ice and hits the Dyna Music studio for an acoustic, rock and pop album.

She may not be the biggest star out there, but Say is visible and has a showbiz career to take care of.

With the many things being said and done, Say clarifies she is not at war with Zeke. She even looks forward to the day when she could meet him and settle things between them.

Meantime, Say will bury herself to work and take part in the search for Wazzup, Wazzup’s Ultimate Summer Zupistar. The show has eight zany, witty contenders vying for the title. The contest is one of the highlights of Wazzup, Wazzup’s third anniversary.

"The winner should be professional," Say describes the Zupistar. "He is open to criticisms, willing to work on things and easy to get along with."

Topping the list is Baby Glow, a 19-year-old UP-Diliman student and a veteran performer at UP Samaskom’s LIVE A.I.D.S. He impersonates Presidential Daughter Luli Arroyo, although he reminds one of Ate Glow.

There’s event host Coolai, who wears colorful, outrageous outfits and hairstyles. Completing the flamboyant look is a diamond-studded tiara she puts on her multi-colored tresses. Coolai is also into talent management.

Another funny aspirant is Jimmy Bondoc-look-alike Tikoy. He is a stand-up talent oozing with Chinese appeal and humor. Tikoy doesn’t mind wearing a "bagwa" as accessory for good feng shui or good luck.

Among the contenders, Say roots for Baby Glow for his no frills comedy and professional stance.

Putting people in stitches, the show’s executives say, is one challenge Zupistar contenders have to deal with. Before advancing to the final face-off, they will do news comedy sketch, stand-up, spoof and musical comedy.
