Dawn Zulueta: Paradise found

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda -
Dawn Zulueta is one of the most beautiful faces to ever grace the local entertainment scene. Her good features are attributed to her Filipino-Palestinian-Arab lineage. Marie Rachel Taleon in real life, Dawn was only 14 when she started her fashion and commercial modeling career.

Her CloseUp TV commercial made her the "it" girl of her generation. It was in 1986 when she appeared in her first movie under Viva Films. At the height of her career and several acting awards, Dawn bade farewell to showbiz and chose a domesticated, quiet life in Davao with husband Anton Floirendo-Lagdameo.

Dawn married Anton in December 1997 at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in New York. She happily relocated to Davao to become a housewife. Anton, a Wharton graduate, is now in charge of Davao Agricultural Ventures (Davco), the family’s pineapple plantation and exporting business in Davao del Sur. This is a corporation managed by the Floirendos and the Del Monte group.

Dawn is proud mom to Jacobo Antonio Taleon Lagdameo, who is healthy, good-looking and intelligent. He is a blessing to Dawn and Anton. Dawn got her boy’s name from the Bible’s Jacob. She likes the name because it means someone who stands for everything he believes in. In the Bible, Jacob loves Rachel but out of duty, ended up marrying first the older sister of Rachel, Lia.

Dawn sparkles when she talks about Jacobo, whose looks combine that of his parents’. Dawn accepts motherhood’s wonderful changes. She knows the importance of raising a family since she has been raised solely by her mom since she was 12. She had as a playmate her only brother.

Dawn is raising her family in Davao. It is also in Davao where she will raise Jacobo. The couple also looks forward to having more kids in the future. Dawn likes the idea of having many kids because there is a feeling of security when you have a lot of people to turn to. And for Dawn, Davao is home.

Dawn is a picture of a happy, contented woman and it shows in her aura. She is the endorser of meg*, an exciting clothing line. The Filipino-made trendy apparel is described as smart yet casual, elegant and feminine.

Dawn was the right choice because she embodies the qualities of meg*. Dawn explains that she is in that stage where she’s more comfortable with herself. Dawn believes meg* clothes represent what she feels and what she is right now.

Check out Dawn’s billboard along EDSA Guadalupe and see for yourselves how she perfectly captures everything that meg* stands for — simplicity and elegance.
