The Love Concert
January 30, 2007 | 12:00am
The Cancer Warriors Foundation Inc., together with Philam Life Insurance presents The Love Cancert -- a post valentine concert for the benefit of the "Cancer Warrior Kids" featuring Bimbo Cerrudo and the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra and other guests -- on February 16 at 7:30 pm at the Philam Life Theater on UN Ave., Manila.
The repertoire consists of well-loved songs - standards and ballads, songs from the musicals and cinema as well as classical-pop crossover tunes from the acclaimed Cerrudo-classico…Classic Ko series.
This event coincides with the annual celebration of World Cancer Day on February 4 and International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day on February 15.
Since 2000, Cancer Warriors Foundation has been supporting more than 100 indigent kids stricken with cancer. The founder -- James Auste, a brain cancer survivor himself -- together with a group of volunteers, has since exhausted efforts to raise funds to support the treatment and care of those under their care and to increase public awareness about the disease.
Several projects sustained the foundation's programs over the years. These include the gold ribbon magnet campaign, bike for life and Cancert. This year's Cancert is the 3rd and so far the biggest event the group has ever organized.
Ticket prices: P1,000 for orchestra and P500 for regular seats.
Tickets are available at the Cancer Warriors Foundation Office at unit 15 Patio Madrigal Compound, 2550 Roxas Blvd. Pasay City. For more information call 551-4588 or call James Auste at 0917-8485258, Anne Alvaira at 0917-8322663 or Dennis Gutierrez at 0918-9261676 or email: [email protected]
