’Tis the season of Anne Curtis

-
If there was an award for the most-loved celebrity, Anne Curtis would probably win it easily. Drawing rave reviews for her performance as Celine Magsaysay in the teleserye Maging Sino Ka Man, Anne is enjoying the best season of her career.

But Anne isn’t only scoring major points on TV. On the big screen, she has starred in the horror-suspense flick ’Wag Kang Lilingon with Kristine Hermosa. The movie, which has two episodes, Uyayi and Salamin, is a co-production venture between Star Cinema and Viva Films. Anne topbills Uyayi directed by Quark Henares. In Uyayi, Anne plays Melissa, a young nurse with a bright future ahead of her. But then strange and violent events occur at the hospital she works for. Together with her boyfriend James, Melissa tries to uncover the identity of the killer responsible for the rising number of deaths in the hospital. But in her eagerness to solve the mystery, will she become one of the victims?

’Wag Kang Lilingon
is the second co-production venture Viva has entered into after Till I Met You, which was a co-prod between Viva and GMA Films. The movie opened last week to rave reviews and an impressive box-office gross.

The success of the movie validates Anne’s talent as an actress, especially since it was her first time in many years to try the horror genre. But despite this, she has impressed the critics, which makes Anne feel good, especially since she’s not used to the horror genre.

Since she started in showbiz, Anne has been known more for her dramatic talents as seen in Hiram and Kampanerarang Kuba. In the latter show, her talents were pushed to the limit as she played a dual role.

Soon, Anne will stretch her acting talents in another direction as she tries comedy in Cute ng Ina Mo, another co-production venture between Viva and Star Cinema. The movie, which has already started shooting, will star Ai-Ai de las Alas, Anne and Luis Manzano, who plays her love interest.

Cute ng Ina Mo
will be directed by Wenn Deramas of Tanging Ina fame. The movie comes on the heels of another Viva comedy, Reyna, which takes a humorous look at the foibles of beauty pageant contestants and stars Eddie Garcia, Keanna Reeves, Eugene Domingo, Paolo Contis, Manny Castañeda, Bobby Andrews, Franzen Fajardo and Jason Gainza with Melanie Marquez in a very special role. Reyna opens in Metro Manila theaters on Dec. 6.

Anne is also one of the most in-demand showbiz endorsers, with endorsements for GSM Blue, SMART, Petit Monde, Watch Republic and the Belo Medical Group.

Advertisers, co-stars, directors, fans love Anne because not only she is beautiful and talented, she’s genuine and real – and in showbusiness, that’s what counts.
