Im not anorexic Zsa Zsa
September 30, 2006 | 12:00am
Thats the Divine Diva, Zsa Zsa Padilla, speaking and denying rumors that shes anorexic.
But before anything else, let me explain the word anorexic, which is the adjective of the noun anorexia. The Oxford American Desk Dictionary defines anorexia as l. lack of appetite for food 2. (in full anorexia nervosa) psychological illness, especially in young women, characterized by an obsessive desire to lose weight by refusing to eat.
The rumors were sparked by Zsa Zsas rapid loss of weight, making people speculate that shes anorexic, or suffering from anorexia nervosa.
Zsa Zsa explains that shes overworked lately, wrapping up the soap Bituing Walang Ningning (on its last two weeks), performing in the Sunday show ASAP both programs aired on ABS-CBN and shooting Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah for Regal, an entry to the December Metro Manila Film Festival.
Its a killer schedule, in a manner of speaking, tiring physically and emotionally. Her role as Rosa Mia, martyr mother of Sarah Geronimo, a has-been singer, in Bituing Walang Ningning is heavy drama which drains her after every taping. Preparing for her ASAP musical number is also taxing.
Then theres Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah, where she plays a superwoman. The part is physically exhausting, what with all those fighting and flying. And Joel Lamangan is an exacting director; wants everything near perfect, if not perfect.
Zsa Zsa isnt complaining though. Shes especially happy to work again for direk Joel, who gave her two Best Actress awards for Ako Legal Wife (Mano Po 4).
For Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah, the Divine Diva lost weight as the costume is skimpy; shes got to be shapely, sexy. That must have added to the rumors that shes anorexic.
Well, at 40 Zsa Zsas remarkably well-preserved, a goddess of beauty. The Divine Diva tag is most apt the love of her life, Comedy King Dolphy, will surely agree.
So there. Zsa Zsa Padilla is not about to follow in the footsteps of the late Karen Carpenter, who died of anorexia. Her loss of weight is due to a hectic schedule and not lack of appetite.
