When youre misunderstood
September 3, 2006 | 12:00am
As part of the entertainment world, being misunderstood is a given in our everyday lives. We sometimes have to create a new identity. And we leave it up to the press to either dig more into our private lives or just leave it as it is.
Sometimes, its hard to open up and show our real identities while others make up a new personality for us. It ruins the whole idea of being true to ourselves and to the public.
Andrew Wolfe is a 21-year-old boy who seems so innocent and vulnerable to rumors surrounding him.
I call him a boy because hes not what people think he is. He defines the word "misunderstood."
Andrew was born in England on July 12, 1985, just a day older than me. Ive known him for quite some time and I was surprised to find him while surfing TV channels. I had no idea what mess he got himself into.
He grew up in England basically all his life. His father is British, while his mother is Filipina.
He has only been back in the Philippines a couple of times. A little over two years ago, he decided to take a few months off and stay in the country to spend time with his family and get in touch with his roots.
After several months, Andrew started modeling and liked it. He decided to stay longer. Before he knew it, he was this new kid on the block in the entertainment business.
He has one more year to go before finishing computer engineering in England. He plans to go back there next year to continue his studies.
As a kid, Andrew wanted to become an astronaut. But he ended up pursuing a different course. He enjoys acting and looks forward to learning more of the craft.
But then again, showbiz doesnt just mean being a good actor. It also means having the guts to face all the intrigues.
Andrew is one of the most controversial personalities this past week. Does he enjoy it?
"I dont mind all the publicity. I just feel bad I couldnt control what comes out in the news. They dont know the real me. As much as possible, I want to keep my private life private but sometimes, I have no choice but to speak for myself.
"Some issues just get out of hand and I want a second chance to show people theyve misunderstood me. I want to prove myself to them," Andrew explains.
Andrew is a simple guy. He goes to the gym, hangs out with friends and attends Mass.
"I go to Baclaran. I believe in God and I think everyone should have faith in Him, too," Andrew says.
Andrew means well. Sometimes, its very hard to express ourselves especially to the public.
Andrew admits hes short tempered. Like everyone else, we have our mood swings at times, right?
Too bad hes often misunderstood.
Believe it or not, falling in love is one of Andrews major weaknesses. And just to set the records straight, Andrew is not in love with anyone at the moment.
Have a great Sunday!
