Bianca gives film production a try
June 12, 2006 | 12:00am
Beauty and brains dont sometimes go hand in hand. Thank God for perfect gene unions that often result in a complete package like TV host/commercial and ramp model/corporate events host Bianca Gonzalez.
On TV, Bianca flexes her brain cells and uses her gift of gab hosting shows like Pinoy Big Brother, Uplate on ABS-CBN and Y Speak Live on Studio 23, and being a Cinema Jock for Cinema One. Now, she adds another show on her long list of TV programs, an entertainment show entitled Blog on Studio 23 which starts to air tonight at 6:30 before Wazzup Wazzup.
Bianca is excited with Blog because its the only show that dishes out the latest Hollywood and local showbiz news. "Its fun doing the show," says Bianca. "The production people are extremely creative, plus the shows concept is unique. We have a tie-up with E! channel so its guaranteed that well deliver the hottest Hollywood news. The show will also have local showbiz news plus every week, well be giving a special item owned by a celebrity. For our pilot week, well be giving away a Kate Torralba top given to the show by none other than Kris Aquino!"
As a host, Bianca is indeed a refreshing sight on-cam but who would ever think that this dusky beauty really loves working behind the camera?
"Im saving up to study film production in the future," Bianca shares. "I wanna take up more technical film courses and work behind the camera."
Awhile back, Bianca and her friends had their hands full finishing the shoot for a 30-minute short film tentatively titled Balikdiwa, a weird sci-fi Pinoy horror movie about a voodoo ritual that can supposedly resurrect a dead loved one by mixing the deads minced body with a potion. You then ask someone to drink the concoction and the deads spirit will transfer to the person who drank it.
Sounds spooky? Well, you cant blame a bunch of crazy and bright-eyed graduates who are exploring the possibilities of the bizarre world around them. They are planning to compete in a short film festival soon, and this is their entry.
Aside from writing and directing her own film in the future, Bianca wants to teach someday. Teaching, according to her, is her way of giving back and sharing to a world that has been very kind to her.
Bianca, a Communication Arts graduate of the Ateneo, really planned to write and direct for TV. But, as luck would have it, her beauty captivated the camera.
Besides the TV shows shes doing, she is now the image model of Pink Soda, the clothing brand renowned for fashion sense and sensibility. Her billboards for Pink Soda which are seen in strategic places nationwide have made heavy traffic seem lighter with her invigorating presence.
More than enjoying the opportunity to be on billboard, Bianca enjoys the Pink Soda clothes she gets to wear as the brands image model.
"I like Pink Sodas clothes, especially its pants because they ride well with my not-so-long legs and slightly big hips," Bianca enthuses "Their cuts are perfect for the Filipina."
Pink Sodas collections always get better, according to the witty host. "I like the way they experiment on colors, cuts and prints. The latest collection more so describes me now," she declares. "With edgier, playful and casual designs, I can be anyone I want."
Every day is different for Bianca. With several TV shows to attend to, plus corporate events to host and some fashion pictorials to do, Bianca weaves through a hectic schedule.
"I am busy pero sanay na ako," she discloses. "Since school is finished, a lot of work and study load are gone now."
(Show) business pays good money, according to her. But shes saving for the film production course she wants to study in the future.
"I learn a lot while working now," she adds. "And Im so thankful being in an industry that allows me to grow."
