To Barcelona & back

The group of direk Gil Portes flew back from Barcelona the other day after shooting the movie entitled, you guessed it, Barcelona for more than two weeks.
Below is a letter sent to Funfare by direk Gil last week by "delayed mail," with exclusive photos taken on the set.
Dear Ricky,
Hola! I am currently in Spain shooting a film entitled Barcelona. Nope, this is not a Star Cinema production, although like Milan and Dubai, the story revolves around OFWs. Today, we shot at the crowded central attraction of the city called "La Rambla," described by novelist Sommerset Maughm as "the most beautiful street in Spain." We have also shot important scenes in La Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, Barcelona Cathedral, Montjuic Cemetery, and other famous landmarks in this Catalan city.
A few days from now, the entire group will proceed to scenic Montserrat, an hour away from Barcelona. This is where La Moreneta (The Black Madonna) is enshrined.
Independently produced, this film is about life, love and death five people who are holding on to something (or someone) in their past, each one seemingly unable to move on. Written by Senedy Que and yours truly, it stars Luis Alandy, Robert Arevalo, Alan Paule and the phenomenal Alessandra de Rossi.
Singer-actress Kristina Paner, who is now based in Barcelona, plays an important role. During these hard times, it is almost a miracle that we have found a producer willing to support this "small" yet ambitious project.
Also in the core group are cinematographer Diboy Trofeo, sound recordist Ari Trofeo, production designer Willy Urbino, gaffer Elmer Despa, assistant director Boyet Kabigting and well-respected Tempo columnist Ronald Constantino. Special mention goes to our host and sponsors in Barcelona the very generous couple, Brad Malapitan Catly and Vicky de Leon Matira.
Thank you for your support, as always.
