Having a ball with Bubble Gang

SIZZLING HOT - SIZZLING HOT By Juliana Palermo -
It has always been my thing to watch TV shows that don’t follow a story. Before I left for the States, I got addicted to watching this soap opera. After watching it for a while, I started to miss some nights when the story got interesting.

I have to admit it does get pretty frustrating when you miss one day of watching a certain show then end up totally getting lost with the story and asking someone else what happened the night before.

Well, I guess that happens to those who really get into the story.

But hey, Filipino drama TV shows are great! They always have a way of getting you addicted and keeping you tuned to their station. It’s very different when you start watching a soap opera from the beginning rather than trying to watch it and hoping to catch up with the story.

As for the soap I loved watching a few years back, I never finished it. I was annoyed.

My mom didn’t really allow me to watch Pinoy shows back in LA because she wanted me to learn speaking English faster.

Since then, I never bothered trying to follow TV shows. What got me hooked were talk shows. Yes, talk shows. They’re the best. You just sit down, watch, and I assure you, there is absolutely no chance of you getting confused in any part of the episodes.

It’s pretty hilarious. I’m not sure if the shows are sold on tape, but you definitely should try to catch one.

When I flew back here, I got pretty bored with TV. Most of the shows I ended up watching at night were soap operas that you wouldn’t really understand unless you’ve watched it from the beginning. At that time, I couldn’t really relate to any of the showbiz talkshows because I didn’t know much about Filipino artists.

I never had the chance to watch Filipino shows the whole time I was in the States. So I was pretty much going nuts.

One Friday night, I stayed up late and watched Bubble Gang for the first time. Great show! At last, I’ve found a show I can understand. I try to catch it every time I’m home on Fridays.

A couple of years later, I never thought I would end up guesting in their show! It was so awesome.

Of course, I kept my cool while I was there, but deep inside, I totally admire their show. Our taping was in Palawan. It was my first time there in that nice beach resort.

That was the first time I met Michael V. and some of the other cast members. The taping went so smoothly. Everybody was relaxed and I never got the ngarag feeling. There is probably no dull moment in their tapings because even behind the cameras, everyone still seems to have their own share of jokes.

I was laughing the whole time. Even the staff have their moments. For me, that was one very fun and unforgettable taping.

Just last Monday, I was surprised to get a call from a good friend of mine, Diana Zubiri. She called to invite me to their 10th anniversary show in Bubble Gang!

Wow
! Isn’t that awesome? I was so clueless that this show had been on for 10 years now but I’m definitely not surprised. I’m sure they’ll have many more years to come. I don’t think there’s any other show that can match their style. Their jokes are not corny, and the artists deliver them so well.

Bitoy (Michael V – ed) is unbelievable. It was definitely an honor be invited to their 10th anniversary celebration a week ago and see them perform live.

This will be the beginning of their next 10th anniversary, and I sure hope to be there when the time comes. More power to Bubble Gang and congratulations!
