London-based all-girl quartet Chickitas continues to invade the Philippine shores with its "chicky" dance groove, Do The Chicky, Chicky Dance, from the groups self-titled album.
The Chickitas quartet, whose members are Christina, Angelica, Rachel and Mocca, together with Dance Squad, will release its first video on local TV showcasing the "chicky" dance moves most kids will surely enjoy dancing and "wiggling" to. The new dance craze was specially created by choreographer John Fontanilla to match the singles fun melody.
The carrier single, Do The Chicky, Chicky Dance, has not only swept off the feet of UK-based Filipinos whose fun personality and natural groove for dancing match the records wholesome lyrics and infectious dance rhythm. Chickitas has shared the stage with the Apo Hiking Society and Martin Nievera during their UK concert series this year.
The debut album Chickitas, under Zone 7, (sub-label of Candid Records Philippines) and distributed in the Philippines by Ivory Music and Video Inc., includes 16 fun and whimsical childrens classics and some originals like Yellow Submarine, Id Like to Teach The World To Sing and My Boy Lollipop. It is also part of Candid Records An Album with a Big Heart charity project. The project aims to help and support underprivileged children. This year, the label supports Bantay Bata 163. For each full-length CD sold, P10 will be donated to the project, while P5 of sales for each CD-lite will go to the same cause.
The Chickitas Philippine Promo Tour is presented by Enchanted Kingdom and the groups official wardrobe Garfield in cooperation with Selecta Moo, Odyssey, Zagu, and Mirinda. The Chickitas quartet will perform live in various malls in Metro Manila.

I adore Jean Garcia. She is not only a powerful presence on screen but a lovely, wonderful person as well. Last week, she celebrated her birthday with family and friends and Jean sparkled. I really wish her the happiness she deserves in this lifetime. Shes been through hell and back but Jean has fought well and has come out, perhaps, scarred, but stronger and more seasoned. She may have cried many lonely nights, but she has not forgotten how to laugh. And what a beautiful, naughty, throaty laughter it always is!
Feisty as she is, it looks like her daughter Jennica is not far behind. In an interview with The Buzz, Jennica said, "Mom, youre getting older na, di ba? Sana lang, when you fall in love again, yong guy stable na, someone who will fight for you and who will accept the fact that my brother and I exist. Sana lang ma-meet mo na yong guy na makakasama mo for the rest of your life. Hindi naman ako humahadlang e, okey lang naman as long as the guy deserves you. Someone who will love you more than you love him. I love you so much."
Gardo, Jeans ex-boyfriend, also a good friend of mine, was in Jeans party. He, too, wished her well. "All the best naman palagi." Good health, more power sa career, all the best sa family niya. Wala pa rin naman pumapalit doon sa puso ko."
Jean is grateful for the abundant blessings she continues to receive. She says her heart is open to love again.
Jean denies any romantic liaison with Joey Marquez.
For me, whether its Joey or anyone, for as long as hes someone she loves, were happy for her.
Happy birthday, Jean and dont be afraid to follow your heart as you have always done.
