A new episode for South Border

-
This serves as an invitation to one of biggest, most awaited concerts of the year – South Border Episode III...The Show. You can’t even begin to imagine what you’ll be in for.

South Border Episode III...The Show
is South Border’s fourth major concert and their first major musical event with new lead singers Vince Alaras and Duncan Ramos, the latest addition to the band line-up. The rest of the band is composed of Jay Durias, South Border’s keyboardist and musical director, drummer and percussionist Paul Benitez, saxophonist and flutist Ric Junasa, bass guitarist Tata Balane and lead and rhythm guitarist Butch Victoriano.

This concert follows the successful release of their new album, Episode 3, which has gone gold within three weeks of its launch. The CD features the phenomenal hit, Rainbow which has practically become everyone’s feel-good song.

It is interesting to note that the concert is aptly named after their next chart-topping single, The Show which is South Border’s most sensuous song to date and the group’s first attempt at dabbling with an erotic theme, a testament to their commitment to explore the limits of their musical artistry.

According to Sharon Inductivo, South Border’s manager, this would give the band the opportunity to showcase their potential and capability to entrance their audience to the maximum without distractions, and would allow the crowd to fully appreciate them and their music.

In South Border Episode III...The Show, South Border will perform most of their originals from the Episode 3 album such as Rainbow, their latest single Playa, their popular version of the Visayan song Usahay, and the heart-wrenching ballad Wherever You Are. One of the concert’s highlights is their rendition of The Show, which will feature a circus sideshow and special effects number that could be considered one of the most creative concepts in concert choreography ever used in a local act.

This show won’t be complete without the group’s performance of the theme song from the teleserye Mulawin titled Ikaw Nga, which is now one of the most requested OPM songs in both local AM and FM radio stations. The band will also sing their classic hits such as Kahit Kailan, Habang Atin ang Gabi, and Love of My Life, as well as covers that have been staples in their regular repertoire–all these with a different twist, as always. The audience will be treated to fresh versions of these songs as never heard before.

Tomorrow, the Big Dome will be transformed into one big dance floor as choreographer Drex Garcia leads the pack of talented dancers from various genres hand-picked from popular dance groups such as Abstract, Kids at Work, and Lisa Macuja’s Ballet Manila, including the country’s top breakdancers, to perform with South Border on stage and with the audience, who will most surely get up their feet and join the grind.

Treb Monteras marks his directorial debut in this concert. He was also the director for the music video of The Show.

The concert starts at 8 in the evening. Ticket prices are at P1,200, P1,000, P750, P500, P300 and P100.
