Why direk Laurenti calls John Lloyd, Bea his anak

-
Fresh from the box-office success of Star Cinema‘s All My Life, starring Aga Muhlach and Kristine Hermosa, director Laurenti Dyogi is back with another potential blockbuster, Now That I Have You. Also from Star Cinema, which marks the second big-screen outing of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo (after the twinbill My First Romance which also starred John Prats and Heart Evangelista).

Asked if he isn’t pressured to equal, if not surpass, the record of All My Life, direk Laurenti said, "I never thought of that, my only concern is to enjoy the shooting. All My Life was all-out drama while Now That I have You is a light romance-comedy, so magkaiba yung dalawang pelikula."

Written by Joey Javier Reyes, Now That I Have You is the story of two young people who meet and fall in love during their frequent meeting at an MRT station. They are opposites but you know how opposites attract each other.

"I consider Now That I Have You a personal fulfillment because it has been my dream to see John Lloyd and Bea on the big screen," added direk Laurenti.

It was direk Laurenti who megged John Lloyd and Bea in the hit ABS-CBN soap Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay, followed by It Might Be You (by another director).

"Sa akin nagsimula ang loveteam nila so I feel responsible for them. Of course, before Kay Tagal, John Lloyd had already done other TV shows (Tabing Ilog, etc.) But with Bea, I really molded her. The two are actually my babies. Para ko silang mga anak."

While All My Life left direk Laurenti with a heavy feeling because of its story (Aga played a heart patient). Now That I Have You was a breeze for him; it was a picnic doing the latter movie.

"It’s a welcome breather," said direk Laurenti.
