So what’s in Lea and Rob’s registry?

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo -
Funfare’s Internet DPA has forwarded to me the following entry in knot.com of which Lea Salonga is a member. Lea herself wrote the juicy details (about her and fiance Robert Chien), to wit:

ABOUT LEA:
I’m an actor...who loves anything technological (meaning I have ALL of the following: a laptop with the latest system software, a PDA, a PS2, Gamecube and XBox – yes, ALL THREE – a cellphone and an iPod). I’d rather shop for video games than clothes or shoes, and enjoy a good meal. Thank goodness I’m marrying someone whose love for food equals or surpasses mine.

ABOUT ROBERT:
NOT an actor, thank GOD!!! He works in a small technology firm, an outsource company for customer service for other companies. He loves food, golf and family, and he’s the nicest, nicest guy.

WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED:
July 28, 2002

ABOUT OUR WEDDING, WHEN & WHERE:
January 10, 2004, Los Angeles, California

And here’s what’s in Lea’s registry (items that she thought would make her and Rob’s home "comfy and cozy," not to mention "very cute"):
• Natural basket liner, monogrammed "Laundry".......... $15
• Rattan Hamper, large, mahogany .................................. $65
• Rattan laundry basket, mahogany ................................. $45
• PB Basic Pitcher, large ................................................ $24
• PB Basic Pitcher, small ................................................ $18
• Bosphorous Vase, large ............................................... $36
• Bosphorous Vase, medium .......................................... $29
• Bosphorous Vase, small .............................................. $24
• Square Bowl ................................................................ $19
There you are. Those invited to the wedding (covered exclusively by ABS-CBN) should know what gifts to give Lea and Rob.
John Ritter on RPN 9
I was in L.A. third week of September when John Ritter died of a rare heart ailment called aorta dissection and I saw the outpouring of sympathy splashed all over the pages of US papers. Flowers covered John’s foot- and hand-prints in Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, surrounded by lighted candles. My friends and I stopped by and prayed for the repose of John’s soul.

And then, I caught an episode of his last sitcom, 8 Simple Rules (for Dating My Teenage Daughter) and I felt more sad that such a well-loved and talented actor was dead so prematurely at 55.

According to the latest word from Hollywood, when John’s co-stars returned last Oct. 20 to resume shooting for more 8 Simple Rules episodes, which deals with the passing of John’s character Paul Hennessy, father of the teenage daughter in the title, the stuido was eerily silent. Everybody was missing John and crying silently. Kaley Cuoco, who plays John’s daughter, couldn’t get started. Everybody was crying and hugging everybody else. According to the story, John’s dressing room has been cleaned out, all right, but his name remains on the door.

Local televiewers will have the chance to see John’s last starrer when RPN 9 premieres 8 Simple Rules tonight at 8, back-to-back with Scrubs at 8:30.

I’m sure that as you laugh at John and his co-stars’ antics, you will at the same time shed quiet tears for the guy whom we learned to love and consider a member of the family since we first saw him in Three’s Company.

Anyway, according to the sitcom, here are the eight simple rules on dating his teenage daughter:
1.
Use your hands in my daughter and you’ll lose them later
2.
You make her cry, I make you cry
3.
Safe sex is a myth. Anything you try will be hazardous to your health
4.
Bring her home late, there’s no next date
5.
Only delivery men honk. Dates ring the doorbell. Once.
6.
No complaining while waiting for her. If you’re bored, change my oil
7.
If your pants hang off your hips, I’ll gladly secure them with my staple gun
8.
Dates must be in public places. You want romance? Read a book.
