Meet the cookie monsters

Kids will be given the opportunity to rock the vote, to let their voices be heard in a one-of-a-kind mall event, The Tini Wini Awesome Cookie Election.
The kiddie voters will not be asked to choose from grandstanding politicos. More importantly, they will not be bored with long and circuitous speeches.
Instead, they will be given the chance to pick between two new Tini Wini formulas, Orange and Strawberry, and the winner in the election will be launched and sold side by side with the current Tini Wini bestsellers: Cookies n Cream, Choco Fudge, and Very Nutty Butter. The chosen variant will be unveiled sometime in September, after all the votes have been tallied throughout the two-month voting process.
The kiddie voters will surely be given an important lesson in democratic processes in the Awesome Cookie Election. But true to the fun-filled nature of Tini Wini, the event is primarily conceptualized as an entertaining romp through a fun-tasy forest, teeming with all sorts of exciting adventures.
"The election centers will be spruced up like a jungle," says Len Pozon, marketing services manager. "We have lined up different games and activities for them. It will be like one big playground. "We are making sure that it will be a fun place for the kids to visit," concurs Mark Tiangco, brand associate.
The Awesome Cookie Election also allows Tini Wini to go straight to its main consumers, the kids. "We want kids to know we are listening to them," Len says "that they are important to us."
Tini Wini firmly believes in Kiddie Power.
"Being a mom myself," Len attests, "I know for a fact that even kids as young as two or three years old already have Pester Power. They already have their own opinions, their own preferences, when it comes to everything, from the clothes they wear to the food they eat. And they will insist on what they want."
"We want to give kids the choice," Mark intones. "We want to give them the voice. Tini Wini is really a product geared for kids. It was designed, marketed and oriented toward children."
And with the Awesome Cookie Election, Tini Wini will really be a product for, of, and by kids! "Its because they are now part of the decision making process," Len agrees. "We want to educate kids about their rights, but we are doing it in a fun and thrilling way."
Envisioned as an engaging and invigorating activity for kids, Tini Wini also seeks to include mothers in the Awesome Cookie Election. "Aside from the malls, we will also set up voting centers in different supermarkets," Len elaborates. "Its because we also want to tap the moms. To inform them that there is such an activity for their kids in the malls. With the Awesome Cookie Election, we are going straight to the decision maker and the buyer!"
The Awesome Cookie Election will be mounted at myriad Metro Manila malls on the following dates: Rockwell PowerPlant Makati (Aug. 2 to 3), Robinsons Place Manila (Aug. 9 to 10), Robinsons Galleria Ortigas (Aug. 16 to 17) and SM Southmall Las Piñas (Aug. 23 to 24).
Hosting these exhilarating events will be MTV Asia veejay and S.O.P. star KC Montero, new spokesperson of Tini Wini, along with cute kid Heaven Arespacochaga. "I love cookies, especially if washed down with a tall glass of milk," KC confirms. "I can have it for breakfast, lunch, merienda, and dinner. And Heaven also loves Tini Wini. We eat cookies all the time, when were playing video games or when were watching scary movies at home."
After all, both KC and Heaven are sporty, active, and dynamic, growing boys always running around and having a ball. You can also say that KC is as staunch advocate of Kid Power. "Im forever young at heart," KC beams with pride.
Indeed, Tini Wini, which now has two kooky kids as spokespersons, is the ultimate fun snack, "for, of, and by kids."
Retro music is back and retro waves cut across the country and people of all ages are grooving. This year, retro fans will be treated to a big party, probably the biggest this year.
Amazing Retro Revolution gathers the biggest, brightest of retro music stars on Aug. 1, at the Le Pavilion, Metropolitan Park, Edsa cor. Roxas Blvd. Billed as the ultimate retro party for a cause, Amazing Retro Revolution is one big jamming session with bands playing the music of the 60s and 70s. Staged like a junior and seniors prom, baby boomers and Generation Xers will be brought down memory lane with more than touch of nostalgia. A huge central dance floor ensures there is enough space to shake everyones booty.
RJ, The Moonstrucks, Flintstones and the Gang, and Rockin Revival headline this once a lifetime event. Amazing Retro Revolution will also feature the Star Band with Christopher de Leon, Willie Revillame, Michael de Mesa belting out her all-time oldies but goodies favorites. Amazing Retro Revolution will also feature the first Rock and Roll of Fame Manila Awards which will honor people who have made rock and roll a major stimulus in our future. Bands, soloists, duets, trios, composers, record company executives, radio DJs, talent managers will get their chance to be feted. Five winners will be presented with a trophy and other prizes. Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera will be among presenters. Visit the Sarabia Optical of my good friend Dr. Vivian Sarabia if you want to buy tickets which are selling like the proverbial hotcakes.
