Lotlot, Monching: Everything is fine now
November 5, 2002 | 12:00am
Last week, Funfare came out with a blind item about a showbiz couple whose marriage could be headed for splitsville if they wouldnt iron out certain problems (so sorry but I wont enumerate them here anymore for obvious reasons you will find out by and by).
Yes, the couple referred to were Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher who have been married for more than a decade now, blessed with four beautiful children (Janine, 12; Jessica, 10; Diego, 5; and Maxine, one year and eight months).
The rumor was that Monching started getting insecure when Lotlot returned to work (as a regular member of the cast of the ABS-CBN soap Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan), but there was never any mention about any "third party" because there wasnt any in the first place. All these years, Monching has been a faithful husband and a dutiful father, according to people close to them.
I chanced upon Pilita Corrales, Monchings mom, yesterday and I asked her what the "real score" was.
"Everything is fine now," Pilita said with a big smile. "Whatever the little problems are...theyre being ironed out now. As of yesterday, okay na," added Pilita who just came back a few days ago from Sydney (where her husband, restaurateur Carlos Lopez, is based) where she did a show called Pilita in Paradise at the Surfers Paradise.
The "little problems" have been bugging the couple for three months now, or so said somebody close to them, causing Pilita sleepless nights, until finally she gently persuaded Lotlot and Monching to talk things out, heart to heart. It worked.
"What they usually fought about was Monchings fondness for car-racing," said Pilita. "Hes a champion car-racer, you know. Everytime theres a race, Lotlot is worried; she cant sleep, and so cant I. What I know is that they argue about it a lot."
In closing, Pilita said she doubted if Monching became insecure when Lotlot went back to work.
"Hes happy for her," said Pilita. "Monching is busy putting up his own business, a carwash-café, patterned after those in Australia."
At fabulous 40, even now that shes a mother of a 20-year-old (Danica) and an 18-year-old (Oyo Boy), Dina Bonnevie could be mistaken for somebody half her age, the sister of her children (by ex-husband Vic Sotto). In her latest movie, Regal Films Bahid (her comeback to the company which discovered and built her up), Dina could pass for the sister of co-star Assunta de Rossi who is two decades her junior.
What could be Dinas "secret"?
Well, it is revealed in the latest issue of Yes magazine (buy your copy before newsstands run out of Yes) the Fit For Life diet conceptualized and perfected by Harvey Diamond, New York Times No. 1 best-selling author. The program explains how you can eat any kind of food without counting your calories and still lose weight. Take it from a nutrition specialist and health consultant.
> Yes List: Fruits like pomelo, grapefruit, oranges, dalandan, papaya or avocado everyday. Anti-oxidant tablets and Vitamins C, A, E and B three times a day. Enough sleep and enough rest. "But if I lack sleep," said Dina, "I drink a lot of tomato juice."
