Top TV team splits up! And now, JV Villar exposed!
September 25, 2001 | 12:00am
As usual, Funfare is reporting this item with a little catch in the throat. Parting, as the poet said, is such sweet sorrow, isnt it?
But, sad to say, parting seems to be the only way out of the popular TV couples turbulent relationship which started more than a decade ago on a happy, promising note. But just when their friends and colleagues thought that they both found life more comfortable the second time you fall (and love lovelier the second time around, remember?), there they are, breaking up.
"Too many complications," said the Funfare DPA, "too many reasons. When maam broke up with her husband, she promised never to fall in love with a playboy again, not ever, only to realize years later that her second love is also fond of women, much too fond to a fault."
Thanks to the goodness in her heart, "Maam" gave "Sir" a house of his own (the old house) but she kept the new one for herself. Besides TV work, "Sir" also recruits talents (mostly girls) whom he sends to Japan.
But the two being professional, you wont suspect that somethings wrong when you see them still so lovey-dovey on camera, no matter how brutally frank television can be.
Among the guys at ABS-CBN, JV Villar (who co-hosts Pinoy Exposed with Mark Logan Saturday nights) is said to be among the most "colorful" (whatever that means), although JV is surrounded by a certain "mystery."
In keeping with his and Marks show, Funfare is putting JV under the magnifying glass and, like the subjects of their show, "exposed" for what he really is.
Nakahanda na ba kayo? Heres the "expose":
JV finished college at UST (1991 to 1995) with an Arts and Letters degree. It was also at UST where he finished elementary and high school.
He looks the way he really is "wholesome," that is and a real achiever.
At UST, JV was twice given an Exemplary Conduct Award. He was Mr. AB Sophomore (and Best in Talent) in 1992-1993 and Mr. AB first runner-up (and Best in Talent and in Casual and Formal Wear) the following year. Hes a good singer, having won as second runner-up in the 1990-1991 UST Himig Pilipino contest (high school) and the same honor at the UST AB Songfest (college) in 1994-1995.
Before he joined television, first with GMA 7 prior to his present job at ABS-CBN, JV was image model for Cinderella (1989-1991) and for Penshoppe (1992-1994). Hes a camera bug, too, bagging the Best Photographer award at UST in 1993-1994.
These facts should satisfy Funfare readers who have been asking for "vital" information about JV whom they find "very cute" and "very huggable."
When JV recently met a handful of movie writers, he distributed written description of himself. Here it is:
I enjoy playing tennis and bowling. I sing a lot and used to spend time acting. I have a special interest for photography and audio-video productions. I enjoy travelling, meeting and getting to know different kinds of people.
However, Im a very private person. Many times, people would ask me things about my self and my family. But I always refuse to give out private details especially those about my family, friends and of the heart.
Im one person who believes in the saying "try and try until you succeed." I dont easily give up especially if the challenge would make me feel like a winner. Basically, Im an extrovert but very choosy when it comes to my friends.
Im thankful for ABS-CBN because I was able to fulfill my dream of becoming a reputable TV news personality. In the long run, I wish to have my own business, a restaurant perhaps.
I work because I love my job and not for the money. For me, wealth isnt everything but happiness is.
I believe that for a man to progress, he must first believe in himself, work hard for his dreams, and learn from lifes experiences. One should develop all his talents and extend it to his full capacity in order for him to reach his goal in his chosen field. Lastly, acknowledge the true source of glory and happiness in this world... God!
I just received a "thank you" note from Baby K. Jimenez from Los Angeles where she is now based. Baby came home last month to bury her mother, Felicitas Jimenez, in their native Biñan, Laguna, where she also buried her one and only brother Jun a few years back, leaving Baby K, as she said, "all alone in this world" (meaning, all her family members are gone).
The touching note features Babys last photo with her Kuya Jun and her Mom, with the note she wrote to her Mom barely a month before her Mom died. Heres Baby Ks letter (from which you and I can learn a thing or two about loving our own mothers even more):
Dear Mom,
I still remember that fateful day July 26 when I called you. Before hanging up I said, "I love you." You echoed, "I love you, too..." For the first time in our regular overseas calls, you rang back and said you needed to tell me something. I asked what was it? You paused for a while and did not say anything and so I asked one more time, did you want to tell me something? All I remember was saying goodbye again and so I once more said, "I love you," and again you replied back, "I love you too." It would be our last conversation. Thank the Lord that I was able to say I love you twice that day... You know I will miss you big time... and I can say this over and over again.
"I LOVE YOU, MOM"
and Happy Birthday! (Aug. 24th)
