A peep into Robinsons Movieworld-Galleria

"We envisioned this area, the cinema lobby, to be a venue for our shoppers and customers who would like to unwind after a day of shopping. A hangout of sorts for busy yuppies who want to relax after a long day in the office, and for families and teenagers who look forward to an enjoyable visit in the mall," says Minda V. Carpio, Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) for Lease when asked about the new Robinsons Movieworld-Galleria.

Robinsons Movieworld-Galleria is now open with ten brand new cinema,s fully equipped with the best in digital and projection technologies. The cineplex will still occupy its former location at the 4th level of the Mall, which also underwent a major redevelopment.

It will be a totally new and exciting experience as movie goers will now experience the latest in THX, SDDS, DTS, Dolby and Dolby Digital EX sound technologies. These multi-million-peso renovation and improvements also include 5,000 new fabric upholstered seats, a spacious and specialy themed lobby where a videowall will be installed at the center of the lobby.

‘Moviegoers will have a chance to preview the current releases or catch a glimpse of coming attractions," says Leo F. Hernandez, Robinsons Movieworld’s operator. He added that Robinsons Movieworld-Galleria will also be offering amenities such as computerized ticketing systems, reserved seats and internet ticket reservations, loyalty cards and special pre-paid cinema cards to its patrons very soon.

Mall developer RLC, on the other hand, undertook the redevelopment of the entire 4th level of the Galleria to accommodate eight popular restaurant cafes and a couple of new retail concepts that will complement the new look of Robinsons Movieworld. Joining the Galleria roster are Starbucks Coffee, Cafe Mediterranean, Taters Stadia, U Bar, Books n Books, Gourmet’s Cafe, Tortilla Fuson, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Dunkin Donuts, Coffee Experience, Dippin Dots, Taka’s Tea Bar and Juicy Squeeze.

Carpio emphasizes that the redevelopmnt of the 4th level of the mall is part of the company’s vision of providing world class facilities and services that are responsive to the changing needs and wants of the market. "The Filipino consumer has evolved through the years. His taste, whims, habits are constantly changing. That’s why we always keep abreast with the changing times," she says.

Robinsons Galleria has undergone several phases of expansion and renovation. These phases include the expansion of the main mall, which added 20,000 square meters to its area and now houses top of the line brand stores and popular food outlets, male and female comfort rooms, a refurbished fast food area and a retiled mall common area.

Also in the pipeline are plans to include world-class cinemas in other Robinsons malls. RLC will be opening the 3rd quarter of this year eight cinemas in Robinsons Place Novaliches and eight cinemas in Robinsons Place Pasig. By 2002, six new cinemas will open in Robinsons Place Iloilo. Future sites include Pampanga Starmmills, Robinsons Place Sta. Rosa and Robinsons Place Lipa.

‘Private’ affair

Private Property Image models Monina Bagatsing and Loeandro Muñoz will perform at the 2nd annual search for Private Property’s Private ei8ght models slated on July 28, 3:30 p.m. at SM North EDSA Entertainment Plaza and staged in cooperation with A.T.M.A.C.S. Leandro and Monina will also be judges for this year’s search.

The grand finals will be hosted by Bearwin Meily and Duday Galliguez with Joel Yap and Jennifer Rances, last year’s winners as co-hosts. The Crossmovers and other surprise guests are expected to grace the event. The finals is directed by Del Pascual.

There are 20 finalists for the Private Property Private ei8ght models search. Out of the 20, four males and four females will be chosen to join the elite Private ei8ght.
