A night of poetry and music with Jimmy Bondoc

Jimmy Bondoc is busy with an upcoming concert on May 31 that is being produced by Star Records. Dubbed as Jimmy Bondoc
Kung Makikinig Ka Lamang the show is set at Dulaang Sibol in Ateneo de Manila University. The show promises a night of poetry and music, two of Jimmys favorite art forms.
Jimmy is openly acknowledging the fact that the odds are against him. His show could either be a hit or otherwise. The only option that he is presently doing is to pray and work very, very hard.
At the rate that he is going and with the amount of hard work that he is exerting, is seems that he is in the right track.
The management of Star Records saw the immense potential in Jimmy to carry a solo show since his passion for his craft is very strong. His carrier single from his self-titled debut album, Love is Somewhere in the World, made it good on Manilas hottest OPM radio stations and his reputation as a young balladeer is rapidly growing especially now with his For Life single with Jolina Magdangal.
Performing before a live audience is not really new to Jimmy since he use to do it when he was in college and during family gatherings. The only difference this time is the ticket sales. "I guess my upcoming show is the real thing. It makes me both excited and very nervous whenever I think about them."
Jimmy is positioned as a young balladeer and it is most appropriate since he has certain vitality in his voice a kind of freshness that comes from youth. Jimmy is actually a singer, songwriter, and musical arranger rolled into one.
The shows concept is by Jimmy and he co-directs it with Dave Fabros of ABS-CBN Talent Center. The 200 sitting capacity is perfect for the show since it combines music with poetry. The idea is to have close contact with the audiences to make the show an intimate experience that every lover of beautiful music will surely enjoy.
The repertoire is composed of original songs that Jimmy himself wrote and arranged. In between gaps, there will be poetry reading and song numbers by Gary Granda, Noel Cabangon, and other surprise guests.
The shows main concept, however, is the promotion of original Filipino music and literature. Even the poetry that will be read in the show is original. This is the reason why Gary and Noel are the guest artist of the show since the two are widely famous for their advocacy.
As an added treat, the show will be taped and it will be released in VCD format in the first week of June.
