Carmi in control of her life

If there is one thing Carmi Martin has learned from her numerous experiences, it’s the attitude to stay on top of the situation. Away from the klieg lights, Carmi is an independent woman who leads a balanced and healthy life – much to the envy of her co-workers in the industry.

For someone who has gone through many trials and challenges, Carmi still maintains a positive outlook which can be gleaned from the aura she projects. A disciplined person, she pursues a variety of interests yet still manages to take full control of her life.

A typical day for her starts at the break of dawn. This born-again Christian makes it a point to start her day with a prayer. She then browses through the day’s hot news "for my mental exercise."

Health-wise, she maintains a strict regimen which she sticks to religiously. She exercises five times a week, eats the right food and takes vitamin supplements regularly.

One of Carmi’s secrets in maintaining her 35 1/2, 24 and 34 1/2 figure lies in her regular visits to Marie-France Bodyline International – the country’s premier slimming center. After savoring her first meal of the day, Carmi prepares for school. Carmi will graduate from an interior design course this July at the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID). Being a student is something Carmi truly enjoys.

Doing plates, which according to her normally takes seven to nine hours to render, is taxing yet fulfilling. From a mere hobby, Carmi eventually discovered interior designing is her artistic talent, more than just acting. She then decided to go back to school. A go-getter by nature, she says: "If I want something, enjoy akong matuto."

Tuesdays and Thursdays are taping days for Carmi. She is seen in the comedy series Kiss Muna and is cast in the Ikaw Lamang ang Mamahalin, a new soap opera on GMA Channel 7.

On Wednesdays, her weekly participation with her Bible-study group satisfies her spiritual needs. On weekends, she dines out with friends.
