Jinggoy plays a luckless man in Sagot Kita

-
San Juan Mayor Jinggoy Estrada takes on a new role in Millennium Cinema’s latest offering, Sagot Kita.... Mula Ulo Hanggang Paa. In this new action-comedy, Jinggoy is paired for the first time with Vina Morales. This is Jinggoy’s second movie for the year after he played the true-to-life role of Col. Elmer Jamias in Jamias: Barako Ng Maynila.

Jinggoy plays Ador, a luckless man who only dreams of a better life for his family. He tries his luck in the big city only to be part of a bunch of small-time crooks who couldn’t do anything right. He applies as houseboy to a popular TV host named Celina. There, his luck began.

"This is really more on comedy but the action is still there," Jinggoy says. "It’s about a man who wants to experience good luck but instead finds himself in a situation where he falls in love with a famous TV host. His luck did change but there are perils he has to go through. Eventually, things change for him for the better."

This is Jinggoy’s second time to do an action-comedy. He did Ang Erpat Kong Siga for Viva Films with Carmina Villarroel a few years ago. This time, he is working with Vina.

"I chose Vina she’s one of the popular leading ladies around who blends well with action stars. She has worked with Bong Revilla, Rudy Fernandez, Lito Lapid, Ronnie Ricketts and Robin Padilla. She’s very versatile. She can do comedy, drama and action. She’s such a talented person and any actor would be happy working with someone like her."

Jinggoy and Vina figure in situational comedy scenes in the movie. It’s easy for Jinggoy to do comedy because in real life, he’s a comedian himself.

"When I’m with my family, friends and co-workers in the industry, I’m not the serious politician everyone perceives me to be. I can loosen up and be funny like any comedian. That’s why on the set, there is no tension because we get to have a good laugh every now and then."

Aside from the usual action scenes, one of the highlights of the movie is Jinggoy’s dance sequence with Vina. Jinggoy says that he really rehearsed hard because he knows Vina is a great dancer.

"I don’t want to embarrass myself in front of Vina. I know how a good dancer she is and I don’t want to make mistakes in that particular scene. It was really a dream sequence and it turned out really good."

Felix E. Dalay directs Sagot Kita... Mula Ulo Hanggang Paa which also stars Joko Diaz, Jorge Javier, Dick Israel and Perla Bautista.
