MANILA, Philippines — TV host and comedienne Chariz Solomon revealed that she and her fellow hosts of the controversial noontime show “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” have finally received 50% of their unpaid talent fees.

Chariz shared the development during her guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” where she happily announced the news.

“I’m happy to announce… first and exclusive here! Tito Boy, masayang-masaya po akong i-share na naibigay na nila 'yung 50% sa aming mga host. I believed sa iba rin sa staff at production. I think nauna pa yata sila,” she said.

“Tahanang Pinakamasaya” aired on GMA from January to March 2024, replacing “Eat Bulaga!” following the latter’s departure from the network. The program was produced by Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. and aired its final episode on March 7, 2024.

Chariz clarified that she and the other hosts were not angry over the delayed payment, but admitted that they also had financial responsibilities and needs.

The actress explained that she and her fellow hosts had also turned down other projects and sidelines during the two months they worked on the noontime program because they wanted to prioritize the show.

Despite the controversy surrounding “Tahanang Pinakamasaya,” Chariz said she remains puzzled by the continued criticism she receives from some netizens for accepting the hosting job.

“It’s sad kasi… guys, kahit hindi namin ‘yon tanggapin may ibang tatanggap nu’n, may ibang gagawa nu’n. The show will go on. It must. So tinanggap namin kasi kailangan namin ng work,” she said.

For Chariz, accepting the project was ultimately a professional decision, especially since she needed work at the time.

She also looked back on her experience on the show positively, saying it gave her and her colleagues valuable lessons despite the challenges.

“At sobrang ang dami naming natutunan. Ibang klase 'yung pagod, ibang klase rin 'yung saya… mga taong nakikilala mo,” she added.
