'Date to marry lang ako': Barbie Forteza says next relationship should be her 'forever'

MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso Primetime Drama Princess Barbie Forteza said that if she ever falls in love again, she's hoping it will be with the person she'll spend the rest of her life with.

More than a year after announcing her split from fellow Kapuso actor Jak Roberto in January 2025, the award-winning actress revealed that she remains single and has no plans to rush into another relationship.

For now, Barbie said she wants to focus on herself, her career, and her family.

“Hindi ko pa iniisip or hindi ko pa hinihiling na magmahal uli ng iba kasi gusto ko munang ibuhos 'yung lahat ng pagmamahal ko sa sarili ko,” Barbie said in an interview on "24 Oras."

The actress stressed that casual dating has never been her style.

“I don’t casually date. Date to marry ang bakla. ‘Saving Cherry’ nga, 'di ba!?” she quipped.

Barbie was referring to her upcoming Regal Entertainment film "Saving Cherry," where she plays a character she has described as the "wildest virgin."

She reiterated that she would only enter a new relationship when she is completely certain about the person.

“Date to marry po ako, so until I’m ready and I’m really, really sure of the person I’m gonna go out with, hindi ako makikipag-date,” she said.

During the film's earlier media conference, Barbie also shared her unconventional dream wedding, revealing that she hopes to tie the knot in Las Vegas while wearing a Vera Wang gown.

“I wanna get married in Vegas in Vera Wang… para may divorce,” she joked, drawing laughs from the audience.
