Korina on Mar Roxas: He is the best man of them all
MANILA, Philippines — Hours after her husband, presidential candidate Mar Roxas conceded to Rodrigo Duterte, Korina Sanchez shared her thoughts on social media.
In an Instagram post, the broadcaster shared a conversation she had with a reporter, asking her about what she discovered about his husband after the campaign.
Answering the reporter's question, Korina said, "I always knew my husband is a good man. Only now in this campaign did I realize that he is the best man of them all."
Liberal Party standard bearer conceded to the Davao City mayor on Tuesday, after unofficial tally of votes showed him millions behind the numbers of Duterte.
In an emotional statement, he wished the presumptive president success and called on Filipinos to respect the results.
"It’s not about me. It’s not about anyone. It’s about how we love our country and how we’ll do all that we can for her. She’s the only one,” he said at a press conference in the Liberal Party headquarters in Quezon City.
Korina has been married to Roxas for six years now. Separation rumors have plagued their marriage multiple times, but the two had consistently denied them, saying they are just both busy with their public careers.
Korina remained supportive during Roxas's campaign, with some even questioning her involvement in Departments of Agriculture's distribution of checks and farm equipment of last March.
