Vhong Navarro still fears for his life

MANILA, Philippines – Vhong Navarro admitted that he still fears for his life a year after he was beaten up in a condominium unit in Taguig City.

Navarro was mauled in a residence owned by commercial model Deniece Cornejo. He then filed a criminal case against Cornejo and her friend businessman Cedric Lee et. al, that were later released on bail.

“Oo may takot pa rin,” he admitted in an interview on Thursday.  “Pero ako kasi ang paniiwala ko sa Panginoon binibigay ko na sa kanya lahat, e. Kung kailangan na ba kong kunin, e, wala na tayong magagawa, e, hindi ko na mapipigilan ‘yon. Basta ang pananampalataya ko nasa Kanya.”

Reports say that the camps of those involved in the mauling incident were sending feelers to Navarro, attempting to settle the case he filed against them.

Yet Navarro remained firm with his decision. “Hindi po ako makipag-ayos. May mga nakarating po sa amin pero [hindi ako makikipag-ayos].”

“Kaya naman kasi magpatawad ng tao. Pero ‘wag ka hihingi ng tawad kung palalabasin na ikaw ang masama,” he added. “Ngayon po kasi ang hirap magpatawad kung ako ang binabaliktad. Tsaka hindi naman humihingi ng tawad, paano mo patatawarin?” he said.
