Soy helps alleviate menopause symptoms

Soy has become popular over the years because of its health benefits, derived mostly from the quality of soy proteins and the isoflavones (a type of phytoestrogen).
Phytoestrogens such as daidzein and genistein are plant-derived substances which have been shown to improve estrogen deficiency symptoms in post-menopausal women.
Menopause refers to the cessation of menstrual period. This normally happens when a woman reaches her 40s. At this stage, ovaries stop producing eggs and the level of estrogen declines.
A study published in the Journal of Culture Medicine Psychiatry showed that Asian women had lower incidence of the most common menopausal symptoms hot flushes and night sweats compared to Western women because of high phytoestrogen consumption.
Daidzein and genistein mimic estrogens effects in the body which could be useful for conditions aggravated by decline in estrogen levels during menopause.
Phytoestrogen found in soy products such as soya flakes, soy milk, temphe, miso and tofu can also be found in Her Soy Plus but with less purine amount (0.08649+/- 0.00456 mg) per 100mg capsule. Too much purine consumption elevates the uric acid level.
Her Soy Plus contains no less than 85 percent daidzein and genistein soy isoflavones which help alleviate the menopausal symptoms, promoting health and wellness within a few weeks of recommended use.
Her Soy Plus is imported and distributed by New Smart Formulae Trading Corp. It is available at Mercury Drug and other leading drug stores nationwide. For more information on Her Soy Plus, call 374-6182 or 374-6179.
