Meditate on your health this Lenten season

-
The long Lenten vacation is a chance for a weary working body to rest and relax. The problem is, for most of us, long vacation connotes non-stop partying, drinking and eating. This is the season of heart attacks and high blood sugar strokes.

A research done by a leading pharmaceutical company and published in one of the major broadsheets last year showed that 25 percent of the Filipino population is obese. Further, "known" diabetics are seven percent of the population. When you consider an approximate population of 80 million, the results are very much alarming.

Ironically, despite the growing number of different weight loss products and diabetes medications, diabetics, the overweight and worse, obese individuals (including infants) annually grow in alarming numbers.

Medically speaking, a perfectly healthy individual should have enough blood sugar extracted from his/her daily food, then traveling via the blood stream into our 70 billion living cells to produce energy.

It is well-known that a hormone called "insulin" (which happens to be the most important hormone in our body) carries blood sugar into our cells. As with any "motorized" transportation device, if insulin is not properly fueled, it is said to be "inefficient."

Your doctor will tell you that you are diabetic (or overweight) due to "inefficient insulin," which incidentally, will further lead to numerous complications like cardiovascular ailments and hypertension.

"Since diabetes and body fat are primarily nutritional problems," says Dr. Julian Whitaker in his book Reversing Diabetes, "it is only appropriate that the first mode of treatment would also be nutritional." This involves eating the right kind of food sufficient in minerals and vitamins.

In 1948, the US Department of Agriculture studied the reason why newborn babies were born deformed. Again, findings led them to blame inefficient insulin to cause such a deformity.

They found out also that the deficiency of a certain trace mineral called chromium, played a vital role in making insulin efficient, thus, solving the misfortune of newly born babies.

That particular study also led them to discover that chromium stimulates the synthesis of fatty acids and cholesterol, and that its deficiency causes elevation of serum cholesterol and triglyceride, leading to serious cardiovascular diseases and hypertension (high blood pressure).

With inefficient insulin, and the obvious chromium deficiency, body fat cannot metabolize (fat will accumulate, and weight loss becomes impossible). This explains that although hundreds of products are in the market to make people lose weight, none of them works because neither affects insulin nor replenish chromium deficiency.

Further, when the satiety center in our brain (the group of cells in our brain that controls hunger and eating) does not receive blood sugar and insulin (due to inefficient insulin and chromium deficiency), it signals the individuals to eat (even though the body might be full).

Chromium deficiency is not easily curable. Chromium is scarcely found in a very minute quantity in broccoli, shellfish and few other foods, which explains why a large number of the population has ineffective insulin, and why oral medications do not cure diabetics.

To compound chromium’s deficiency further, stress, bad eating habits, trauma, pregnancies and processed foods, to name few, all nullify and destroy your body’s ability to use chromium.

New technology paved the way to a tablet that contains the RDA (recommended daily allowance) of chromium in our body.

Thus, BFK Chromium, the registered name of the tablet, has no known side-effects; it is so safe that it is even recommended to be taken on an empty stomach. Any licensed chromium mineral can be take in amounts thousands higher than the RDA set by the US Department of Agriculture and the local Bureau of Food and Drugs with no noticeable side-effect.

Though BFK Chromium is so far one of the greatest inventions in science, when it comes to diabetes and body-fat elimination, Health From Earth Philippines Corp. shall not claim that is a miracle pill that any diabetic and obese person can take to get cured.

Since diabetes and body-fat are lifestyle diseases, if one is to eliminate (or prevent) them, BFK should be taken religiously in conjunction with a lifetime sensible changes in food eating habits and a minimum of twice-a-week regular exercise (as simple as brisk walking, for example).

Health from Earth conducts a free lecture with subsidized blood sugar, blood pressure, body fat and cholesterol tests to corporate and government offices. For details and schedules of lectures, call 844-1376, 843-9781, 843-9848.
