DigiPlus, PhilFirst launch surety bond to safeguard online gaming players
MANILA, Philippines — DigiPlus Interactive Corp., the digital entertainment company behind BingoPlus, ArenaPlus and GameZone, has partnered with Philippine First Insurance Co. Inc. (PhilFirst) to introduce the country’s first surety bond for online gaming.
The program, launched on September 17, provides an extra layer of protection by securing player balances of up to P1 million each.
The coverage takes effect immediately for eKYC-verified users who have made at least one successful deposit and continue to follow platform guidelines.
“DigiPlus is proud to be the first in the industry to roll out this level of consumer protection,” DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco said.
“We are committed to putting our players first. With this surety bond, they can play confidently on BingoPlus, ArenaPlus and GameZone, knowing that their funds are safeguarded,” he added.
Unlike traditional policies, the bond requires no separate purchase from customers. It is automatically applied, whether the user is a casual gamer or a frequent player.
The initiative expands DigiPlus’ consumer safeguards, which already include round-the-clock support and more than 130 BingoPlus stores nationwide.
PhilFirst, established in 1906 as the country’s first domestic insurer, described the partnership as a milestone that aligns its heritage of protection with the needs of today’s digital markets.
