MANILA, Philippines — Sales of Kia Philippines zoomed 76 percent to 3,748 units last year due to the strong demand for its three vehicle models, outpacing the industry growth of 18 percent.

Kia Philippines president Manny Aligada said the company is confident that robust sales would be sustained  as “Our teams are inspired by our refreshed vision to equip Filipinos with everything they need to move towards a brighter, bolder future.”

“We are confident that our purpose-driven vehicles, partnered with our efforts in improving our dealerships, customer care, and after-sales services, will accelerate Kia Philippines into the next phase of growth in 2022 and beyond,” Aligada said.

Driving the increase in sales last year was the Stonic subcompact sports utility vehicle that accounted for a 37 percent share, followed by the Soluto sedan with 21 percent, and the K2500 light-duty truck with a 17 percent.

Apart from growing its sales, Kia Philippines worked on improving its distributor and dealer after-sales operations, as well as upgrading the quality of their workers’ technical skills and increasing the availability of replacement parts last year.

It also launched a new corporate logo and brand identity as part of its commitment to Kia’s global movement of upholding the philosophy of “movement that inspires” through its offerings.

Kia Philippines has been slowly upgrading its showrooms to reflect the company’s new identity.

Kia Philippines is under AC Motors, the automotive arm of the Ayala Group.

At present, Kia Philippines has more than 40 dealerships in strategic locations nationwide.
