Breathtaking, sky-lighting experience
The biggest and brightest show on earth, the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition will again have the SM Mall of Asia as its traditional venue as it celebrates its 10th year of sky-lighting spectacle.
I remember some years back when the family decided to have a weekend dinner at a famous steakhouse at the SM Mall of Asia only to experience a short walk from the parking area to the mall, which took almost 30 minutes wading against the flow of a sea of humanity who just came from watching a pyrotechnics competition—a common marvel in the country’s biggest mall.
This February, SM Mall of Asia, together with Platinum Fireworks Inc., will host 10 competing countries that will take on a battle of breathtaking fireworks performances amid a symphony of sounds.
Experience the jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring show as each country light up the Manila sky every Saturday night from Feb. 16 to March 23.
On the opening day, Feb. 16, the country’s very own Platinum Fireworks Inc. will open the festivity together with an amazing drone exhibition show that’s bound to surprise everyone.
As the first contender, Oy Pyroman from Finland will present their pyrotechnic delights.
On Feb. 23, contenders from Poland – Surex Firma Rodzinna and Belgium – CBF Pyrotechnics will showcase an amazing pyro display; while on March 2, Germany’s 9th PIPC champions “Steffes-Ollig Feuerwerke” and Portugal’s “Pirotecnia Minhota” will treat the crowd with their tradition and mastery of skills in the sky.
The Manila skyline will be a witness to China’s “Polaris Fireworks” and France’s “Brizac Artifices” on March 9, followed by a burst of vibrant colors by Italy’s very own “Viviano S.R.L.” and last year’s champion, United Kingdom’s “Pyrotex Fireworx” on March 16.
To cap off the competition, it will be Canada’s turn to paint the Manila night sky with colors on March 23 by their very own “Fireworks Spectacular” and another rousing exhibition round by Platinum Fireworks Inc. to close a decade of giving the best pyromusical exhibition in the Philippines.
Staying true to the promise of being the best destination, shoppers and fanatics can expect to be amazed as the 10th PIPC will be the biggest to date with lots of surprises, an amazing drone performance and a showcase of premier orchestra and show-stopping performances from special guests.
The annual PIPC photo contest will also highlight entries from amateur and professional photographers and winners will receive the latest cameras, gift certificates and more prizes from PIPC’s partners and sponsors.
Tickets to the most-awaited 10th PIPC are available at any SM Tickets outlet and at the SM Mall of Asia ticket booths, ranging from the Patron with dinner at P1800, VIP at P600, Gold at P350 and Silver at P120. Ticket prices will be different on the closing day of 10th PIPC.
This magnificent family-friendly bonding experience is made possible with Platinum Fireworks Inc., the City of Pasay, the Department of Tourism, Tourism Promotions Board, Philippine Reclamation Authority, SM by the BAY and TRYP by Wyndham Mall of Asia.
