Epson sees 19% sales growth

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Epson Philippines Corp. expects to post 19 percent growth in sales this year amid strong demand for printers and projectors both from institutions and households.

Epson Philippines marketing manager Eduardo Bonoan said the company is on track to achieve a 19 percent growth in sales this year.

“We’ve been accepted as market leader for both these segments, printers and projectors. I think with that, coupled with strong economy and growing business segment and province demand, I think we are going to see 19 percent (growth) as not much of a problem,” he said.

Citing data from market intelligence and advisory services provider International Data Corp., he said the firm accounted for 55 percent of the printer market in the country as of the first half.

For projectors, he said the company also had a 55 percent market share in the country in the second quarter, based on data from FutureSource.

He said the bulk or 80 percent of the demand for printers and projectors are coming from institutions such as those engaged in education, business and in government.

The balance, meanwhile, is accounted for by households.

Given the demand for products, Epson Philippines is rolling out new models of business laser projectors, technical printers and ink tank printers.

The firm’s new business laser projectors EB-L510U, EB-L610U, and EB-L610W promise to deliver bright and true-to-life colors through the 3LCD technology.

These new projectors have a laser light source technology of up to 20,000 hours and flexible lens shift with center lens position to provide maintenance-free experience for users, and are compatible with a wide range of external devices.

Meanwhile, the new Entry EcoTank L-series printers L3110 and L3150 have an integrated ink tank design with a spill and error-free ink refilling process.

As for the EcoTank Monochrome series M1100, M1120 and M2140, these products have a print speed which put them on equal footing with entry laser printer models, and consume less power to allow users to have a lower electricity bill.

For the technical printer product line, the Surecolor T3130 / T3130N 24,” Surecolor T5130 36”, Surecolor T3430 24” and Surecolor T5430 36” deliver prints with vibrant colors and lines for corporate product and have integrated connectivity including WiFi and USB direct print to allow seamless printing.

The company has been operating in the country since 1998.

At present, it has an extensive network of 77 authorized service centers with more than 200 dealers and over 800 shops across the country.
