PTT to open 4 new stations
MANILA, Philippines - PTT Philippines Corp., the local subsidiary of Thailand’s biggest oil firm, will open four more newly-constructed service stations before the end of the year, a top company official said.
This brings the total number of Thai-oil firm’s gasoline stations in the Philippines to 69 from its current network of 65 stations in Luzon and the Visayas region.
Wisarn Chawalitanon, PTT president and chief executive officer, said the new service stations are located in Luzon, particularly in Central Luzon and Southern Tagalog regions.
The opening of the additional stations is part of the company’s expansion program in the medium-term.
“We are accelerating our expansion towards achieving our goal of reaching our target of 150 service stations in the next four years. Therefore, you could expect more PTT service stations to open up next year,†he said.
The four additional stations are in Binan (Laguna), Mabalacat (Pampanga), Mauban (Quezon) and Villasis (Pangasinan), which will formally in the remaining part of the year.
For next year, the focus of the expansion will be in south and northern Luzon, with one of the premier stations opening in Lucena City.
“We expect that by second quarter of next year, the Lucena Platinum station will already be operational,†the PTT chief said, adding that another Platinum station would be opened somewhere in Metro Manila that he refused to disclose yet the complete details about it.
PTT’s investment in one Platinum station is anywhere from P100 million to P200 million, Chawalitanon said.
