Stocks rise on Tuesday

MANILA, Philippines - Local stocks rallied on Tuesday after the Philippine Stock Exchange index added 11.65 points or 0.18 percent to end at 6,454.86.

The broader all shares index similarly increased, closing higher by 5.82 points or 0.15 percent to 3,888.34.

Three subindices were in the green, while the other half was in the red. The property subindex led gainers with a 45.8-point or 1.85-percent rise to 2,521.73, while the financials subindex suffered the most after shedding 9.30 points or 0.59 percent to close at 1,579.50.

A total of 816.46 million shares valued at P5.92 billion were traded. Decliners outpaced advancers 78 to 64, while 41 issues remained unchanged.
