Cebuana Lhuillier ties up with Wells Fargo Bank
MANILA, Philippines - Cebuana Lhuillier has announced a new remittance alliance with Wells Fargo & Company, one of North America’s most extensive financial services providers, to extend its consumer remittance payout network in the Philippines.
Money sent through the Wells Fargo ExpressSend Service can now be claimed from any of the more than 1,500 Cebuana Lhuillier Pawnshop or Pera Padala branches nationwide.
Wells Fargo & Co. expanded its ExpressSend remittance network through an agreement with UniTeller Financial Services, the US money transfer company of Grupo Financiero Banorte-IXE. This agreement paves the way for the extension of its consumer remittance payout network distribution to additional financial institutions and non-bank financial institutions in Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Peru, Philippines, and Vietnam.
Wells Fargo now has one of the largest networks of payout locations for a US bank-managed remittance service, creating added convenience for its customers and their family and friends.
ExpressSend customers can send up to $1,000 a day to Cebuana Lhuillier branches for $5 if originated from an eligible Wells Fargo account ($7 if originated from cash).
“Through our partnership with Wells Fargo, Filipinos and their families in the US can count on Cebuana Lhuillier for convenient and the quick payout of transactions. We are open to serve clients seven days a week and over 35 of our branches in key areas are now operating 24 hours a day,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, president and CEO of PJ Lhuillier, Inc., the umbrella company of Cebuana Lhuillier.
“We are very excited to add Cebuana Lhuillier to our remittance payment service network”, said Daniel Ayala, executive vice-president and global remittance services director for Wells Fargo. “Its wide payment locations network and extended service hours help improve the experience of the beneficiaries of our clients. Our objective is to offer an economic, secure and convenient way for people to send their remittances. This extended payment distribution improves our capacity to offer that,” said Ayala.
