Raquel re-elected PRSP president

MANILA, Philippines - GMA Network vice-president for corporate communications Butch S. Raquel was re-elected president of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) for 2011-2112 during the meeting of elected directors held last Jan. 20 at Legend Villas in Mandaluyong City.

Other elected PRSP officers were Ramon R. Isberto of Smart Communications Inc. vice president for external; Jorge Miguel T. Marco of Ayala Land Inc. vice president for internal; Edgar U. Timbungco, of Holcim Philippines Inc. – secretary; Ma. Yolanda C. Crisanto of Globe Telecom Inc. treasurer; and Claire V. Papa of United Laboratories Inc., internal auditor.

New PRSP directors include Anna Gizelle V. Camua of Pru Life UK; Janryll F. Fernandez of Mead Johnson Nutrition (Philippines) Inc.; and Toby V. Nebrida of Chevron Philippines Inc. while Jones Campos is ex-officio. PRSP advisers include Eduardo S. Alcaraz of ESA Consultants; Elpi O. Cuna Jr. of San Miguel Corp., and Maximo J. Edralin Jr. of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

In his first move as re-elected PRSP president, Raquel appointed the chair of various committees. Isberto was appointed chair of 47th Anvil Awards while Marco will chair programs and general membership meetings. Crisanto will chair finance/ways and means. Papa was tasked to be in charge of PR education and student affairs while Fernandez will be responsible for professional development. Camua will handle the membership and SOS/charity and Nebrida publicity and publication. Timbungco remained chair of the accreditation and ethics.

The new PRSP poard, which was elected last Jan. 14, will have its oath-taking at the Anvil Awards Night on Feb. 18 at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel.
