Economic roadshow starts Dec 3 in Pangasinan

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Economic Team and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will conduct economic briefings in seven cities nationwide, the Investor Relations Office (IRO) of the BSP said.

The Economic Team, led by the secretary of finance, is comprised of the secretaries of the budget, trade and industry, agriculture and energy departments and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

The upcoming roadshow kicks off in Dagupan City, Pangasinan on Dec. 3. It will be conducted by senior officials from the economic agencies and the BSP.

“The roadshow will allow the heads of the various economic agencies and the BSP to outline their respective plans for the remaining six months of the Arroyo administration,” IRO executive director Claro Fernandez said. The briefing aims to give the business community a clearer picture of what to expect from the Economic Team in the coming months.

For the areas in Luzon, the meetings will include a report from Finance Secretary Margarito Teves, head of the Reconstruction Commission, on the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts following the recent calamities.

“We believe that this briefing would help the business sector, especially those outside Metro Manila, as they will be able to interact with the Economic Team directly,” Fernandez said.
