Food expo set in September

MANILA, Philippines -The 2009 AsiaFood Expo (AFEX) and the FoodServe Asia, both highly considered to be the best source of new technology in food processing, packaging and handling machinery and other equipment, will culminate next month organized by Trade Information Marketing and Exhibitions, Inc. (TIME Inc).

The yearly event, also popular for bringing into the country the latest innovations and developments in the food packaging and processing sectors, will exhibit finished goods and products on Sept. 17-20 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Then, on Sept. 23-26, AFEX 2009 and FoodServe Asia will be showcasing new technology in food processing, packaging and handing machinery and other equipments. Relevant seminars and demonstrations will be also conducted during the event to further expand the food service knowledge of participants.

Trade and Industry Undersecretary and Bureau of Investment managing head Elmer Fernandez said the AsiaFood Expo has remained an undisputed venue to showcase the Philippine competitiveness in the food sector as well as bring into the country the latest innovations and developments in the food packaging.

International organizations such as US Department of Agriculture, Le Club French Chamber of Commerce, Malaysia External Development Corp. and Taiwan Pavilion already pledged their support for the event. 

Well-known culinary masters from Le Cordon Blue are also expected to be present at the expo and demonstrate their techniques in the culinary arts.
