- Marianne V. Go -
Credit card provider American Express has tied up with Equitable PCI Bank to launch the Equitable Gold American Express Card.

By working with Equitable PCI Bank, American Express is hoping to regain market share from its top two competitors, Mastercard and Visa.

During the Equitable Gold American Express card launching Tuesday night, Fol Rana Jr., Equitable Card VP for sales and marketing, optimistically declared that Equitable is targeting a client base of about 30,000 for the new exclusive card.

According to Rana, the Equitable Gold American Express card is aimed at clients who earn at least P50,000 a month.

Rana said the Equitable Gold American Express card user will be entitled to perks and freebies such as movie tickets, spa services and car wash with a minimum purchase of P5,000.

Equitable Gold offers an introductory low interest of 2.85 percent, double bonus E-points for all purchases, dining and shopping privileges.

The card also guarantees high acceptance in a wide range of commercial outlets in the Philippines and abroad.

American express’ global reach via its Global Network Services ensures easy purchases and payments for consumers.
