Insular Life extends Dollar Earner

Insular Life has extended its dollar-denominated endowment plan, Dollar Earner, until April 15.

Dollar Earner sales buoyed Insular Life’s growth in 2002. Premiums grew by 36 percent, from the previous year’s P810 million to P1.1 billion by yearend 2002.

Dollar Earner is a single premium investment plan in dollars. It also provides life insurance protection for 10 years. Compared to time deposits, trust funds, and similar investment/insurance products, the plan has higher yields at more competitive rates. With its guaranteed life insurance coverage for 10 years, it offers financial security not only for the investors but for the investors’ dependents as well.

Insular Life VP for business development Robby J. Ventura said "Dollar Earner was developed primarily as an investment product. It is targeted for high net worth individuals and dollar earners who want a secure alternative investment instrument that would provide good returns on their investment and protect them against currency fluctuation."

"For a minimum single investment of about $1,500, a 30-year old can have $2,000 life coverage. And at the end of 10 years he or she can receive the $2,000 as maturity benefit," Ventura adds. "This translates to a comparably higher rate of return compared to interest from bank investments."
