Ryssi Avila eyes to represent Philippines at 1st Eurovision Asia
BANGKOK, Thailand — Fresh from taking home a Legend Award at the TikTok LIVE Community Fest 2026 in the Thai capital, singer and TikTok LIVE creator Ryssi Avila is set to take the stage again, this time for the Philippines' selection for the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia.
Avila is one of the 10 artists competing at the Philippine Selection Night, which will be held on August 30 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. The event will determine the Philippines' entry to the first Eurovision Song Contest Asia.
Her entry, "Good For You," was written by Hazel Faith and produced by DJ Brian Cua. The song looks back on past mistakes and the desire to break old patterns after finding a relationship that inspires personal change. Its lyrics center on wanting to become a better version of oneself for someone they love.
Avila spoke about the upcoming performance while in Bangkok for TikTok LIVE Community Fest 2026.
"I'll be participating sa New Frontier Theater this August 30 sa Eurovision, first time ever in Asia. I'm one of the interpreters, so sana ma-suportahan niyo po ako," she said.
"Sa mga Team Ryssi po, sana masuportahan niyo po ako. Abangan niyo po ang aking live performance."
The singer added that the selection will involve global voting, with the winning Philippine entry moving on to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest Asia in Bangkok.
From TikTok LIVE to a new stage
Avila's upcoming Eurovision Asia performance comes days after she was recognized at the TikTok LIVE Community Fest 2026, where she received a Legend Award.
The regional event, held at the True Icon Hall Icon Siam in Bangkok on August 25, brought together more than 300 LIVE creators from Southeast Asia and Central Asia.
Avila has also continued to build her music career alongside her work as a LIVE creator. She previously won TikTok LIVE's Gimme The Mic 2024, a global singing competition for LIVE creators.
Her latest Eurovision entry gives her another opportunity to put her music in front of a wider audience.

The Philippine Selection Night will feature 10 songs competing for the chance to become the country's entry to the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia.
The official Eurovision Song Contest Asia website lists the Philippine Selection Night for August 30, with the show scheduled to begin at 9:45 p.m. Philippine time.
The inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia is set to culminate in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 14.
For Avila, her upcoming performance is another chance to take her music beyond TikTok LIVE and onto a much bigger stage.
