MANILA, Philippines — Former Sugarpop member Vanessa Rangadhol has died following an accident at the condominium where she was staying in Manila on Wednesday, August 19. She was 30.

The singer’s death was announced by her relative on social media, who asked the public to respect the family’s privacy as they mourn their loss.

In a Facebook post, Vanessa’s cousin, Ivy Ann Salaum Jubelag, shared the heartbreaking news.

“It is with the heaviest heart that I share the heartbreaking news of the passing of my beloved first cousin and little sister, Vanessa Blanca Quillo Rangadhol, who tragically passed away today, August 19, 2026, following an accident at the condominium where she was staying in Manila.”

Jubelag said Vanessa was the only daughter of her aunt, Anabella Quillo-Kalinski.

“Vanessa was not only my cousin, but also someone I cherished and considered my little sister,” she said.

The family has yet to announce details of Vanessa’s wake and funeral arrangements. Jubelag appealed to friends, relatives and fans to give Vanessa’s immediate family, particularly her mother and loved ones, the time and privacy they need to grieve.

“Rest peacefully, my dear Wani. You were deeply loved, and you will forever be remembered and missed,” she wrote.

Vanessa was one of the members of Sugarpop, the singing group formed by finalists of QTV11’s former talent search “Pop Star Kids” in 2005.

She was part of the group alongside Julie Anne San Jose, Pocholo Bismonte, Renzo Almario and Rita Daniela (Rita Iringan), who won the competition’s grand championship.

Following news of Vanessa’s death, her former Sugarpop members took to social media to express their grief.

Julie Anne shared a photo of herself with Vanessa on her Instagram Stories.

“Wani, Still can't believe it... Plano pa naman natin mag reunion. Sugarpop will never be the same without you,” she wrote.

Rita and Renzo also reposted the announcement of Vanessa’s passing on their respective social media accounts.

Pocholo, meanwhile, shared a video of the group’s reunion in April 2022. The video was originally posted by Vanessa herself.
