MANILA, Philippines — Bianca de Vera and Dustin Yu are taking their growing popularity to the big screen as they prepare to star in their upcoming movie with Regal Entertainment.

Dustin and Bianca, known to their fans as DustBia, are the lead stars of the romance flick “Ba’t Di Na Lang Tayo.” Their upcoming screen collaboration was announced during their fan's day last Saturday, August 8, in Quezon City.

With more projects and fans watching their every move, Bianca and Dustin acknowledge the pressure that comes with their growing careers.

For Bianca, however, pressure is not necessarily a bad thing.

“I think pressure is a good thing because that just means patuloy 'yung hunger namin,” she said during the media event.

The actress explained that she wants to maintain the passion and drive she had when she was younger.

“Personally, naniniwala ako na when the day comes na hindi na’ko gutom, I feel that would be such a great disappointment to me, the younger version of myself who was once so hungry and was once so passionate about what she’s doing,” Bianca said.

“So, I want to be hungry hanggang sa makakaya ko,” she added.

Dustin, meanwhile, said he is grateful to have Bianca by his side as they navigate their careers together.

“Buti na lang talaga na may kasama ako ngayon sa career ko, na tumutulong sa akin na hindi muna mag-pahinga,” he said.

Tag team

The two have also been working together to improve as a love team since they left "Pinoy Big Brother" in 2025. They regularly discuss their plans, the skills they still need to learn, and the areas they can improve.

“Nagfo-focus kasi kami ni Bianca sa goal namin, which is to make more projects together,” Dustin said. “Talagang inaaral namin bawat bagay na kelangan namin matutunan. Pinag-uusapan namin mga plano, mga kelangang pa naming iimprove as love team.”

For Bianca, having someone who shares the same goals makes the journey more meaningful.

“Masaya rin ako kase this time around meron akong nakakasama, meron akong kakampi, meron akong kadamay,” she said.

Their upcoming film, “Ba’t Di Na Lang Tayo,” follows two young people who are dealing with the challenges and responsibilities of adulthood.

As they try to navigate this new stage in their lives, romance develops between them. However, as their responsibilities grow and life takes unexpected turns, they must find out if their relationship can keep up.

While the story has similarities to their own experiences as young people building their careers, Dustin said the characters are not exactly like them.

“Yeah, may mga similarities pero may mga differences din sa pagkatao namin in real life,” he said.

Bianca agreed, pointing out that their differences give them an opportunity to showcase their acting skills.

“Like Dustin said, hindi 100%. And that’s where the acting comes in,” she said.

The pair also admitted that they sometimes feel pressure to keep their supporters happy.

“Minsan, I couldn’t help but feel that need to please them, make them happy,” Dustin said. “But at the end of the day, I just hope they allow enough room to grow.”

For director Jason Paul Laxamana, however, the popularity of the DustBia tandem is not the main factor in making the film.

“'Yung skill nila talaga, 'yun ang mahalaga. Na-obserbahan ko na sila dati pa, at 'yun ang dahilan kung bakit excited ako maka-trabaho sila,” he said.
