Sue Ramirez happy with positive response to Rico Blanco pairing
MANILA, Philippines — "Project Baby," directed by Eric Quizon, centers on Sandy, a type-A, empowered “girl boss” who wants to have a child but does not see a romantic relationship as a priority.
In the story, Sandy searches for a man willing to father her child under the condition that he will have no emotional, financial, or physical involvement in the child's life.
Sue Ramirez shared that she could relate to Sandy's perspective because there was a time when she also considered the idea of raising a child on her own without a partner. However, she said her views have since evolved, and at this point in her life, "Project Baby" has become one of her main priorities.
Reflecting on the project's warm reception, Sue expressed her gratitude, saying, “I prayed for it, I expected it.” The actress added that she is genuinely happy about the positive response from the public.
One of the biggest draws of the project is her pairing with Rico Blanco. This time, audiences will see Rico not as the celebrated musician they know, but as an actor. Sue believes fans will be excited to watch him take on a different role and showcase another side of his talent.
The Sue-Rico tandem has also generated plenty of buzz online, with fans playfully commenting, “Gumawa na lang tayo ng baby,” referencing Rico Blanco’s charm. Sue took the jokes in stride and appreciated the public's enthusiasm for their pairing.
She also shared a funny story from filming, revealing that she and Rico kept unexpectedly running into each other even outside of work.
According to Sue, there were several instances when they would coincidentally end up at the same places despite not planning to meet.
