How Filipino pageant aspirants value health

Filipino pageant aspirants shared their thoughts on why it is important to value their health as they prepare in hopes of representing the Philippines on the international stage.

Mister World Philippines candidate Wendell Pamfilo admitted that he is very conscious of his health and always ensures that he has a balanced diet.

“I’m always very conscious of what I eat, my sleep, my diet. I wanna show that to everyone because here in the Philippines the food is really good, everywhere there’s rice,” the contestant from Nueva Ecija said.

“Rice is not bad once in a while but balancing your diet is very important since health is very important, too, and we don’t want sickness or anything,” he added.

Pamfilo said that he wants to empower the youth through sports.

“I think it’s very important not just in the Philippines but also around the world. I guess you’ve seen mga pamangkins, cousins, kids like that, who are always on their screens or tablets. I just want to change that,” the contestant said.

“I wanna inspire them that there’s more to this in the world and there’s a lot of activities, a lot of clubs nowadays like sports,” he added.

Among his plans is to put up an organization that can help kids pursue their education while enjoying sports.

“In the future, I wanna put up an organization where kids just get enrolled, especially the ones who are in need,” Pamfilo said.

“Since we are a third world country, I wanna put up an organization where I hope they finish college and pursue the sport that they want to do in the future,” he added.

Meanwhile, Binibining Pilipinas candidate Gwendoline Meliz Soriano said in her prepared speech for a food supplement how important it is to take care of her health to be prepared for the pageant.

“In my years of pageant experience, there’s one thing I realized when it comes to beauty, and it’s that true beauty isn’t about looking perfect and looking good all the time, but it’s about being confident, authentic and resilient,” the representative from Baguio said.

“It is about how we rise up every time we fall and about taking care of ourselves holistically with the help of the right supplements like Snow Caps Gold so that we can serve others better because true radiance comes from the strength and goodness of our hearts,” she added.

With her years of experience in the pageant world, Soriano said it is important for queens to exude confidence, which made her the chosen winner of the brand.

“That’s what I’ve been holding on to even before. Whenever I show up, I really do so with courage, with confidence even if I know that I’m not perfect physically but it’s really how I present myself. Hopefully, I can radiate that radiance with you, guys,” she said.

On the other hand, Pamfilo wanted to be an inspiration to the youth.

“You just got to stay composed all the time. Always show that you’re a role model for everyone, which I am, and that’s my goal. I want to inspire everyone to keep going and reach your dreams and your goal in life to be a leader, and someday to be a businessman as well,” he said.

The Mister World Philippines 2026 coronation night will be held on June 21 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City.

The coronation night of Binibining Pilipinas 2026 will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, with two crowns for winners representing the country for Miss International and Miss Globe.
