'State of calamity' sa CALABARZON, Bicol, Western Visayas at Bangsamoro idineklara
MANILA, Philippines — Isinailalim sa kalahating taong "state of calamity" ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang mga rehiyon ng CALABARZON, Bicol, Western Visayas at Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao sa dahil sa epekto ng bagyong "Paeng."
Ito ang isinaad ni Bongbong sa kanyang Proclamation 84, Miyerkules, ilang araw matapos niyang tanggihan ang mungkahi ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council na isang taong state of calamity para sa buong Pilipinas.
"All government departments and instrumentalities concerned are hereby directed to continue implementing and executing rescue, recovery, relief and rehabilitation measures in accordance with pertinent operational plans and directives," sabi ng presidente kanina.
"The State of Calamity shall remain in force and effect for a period of six (6) months unless earlier lifted by the President."

Pumalo na sa 121 ang namamatay dahil sa nagdaang severe tropical storm, bagay na ikinasugat din ng 103 at ikinawala ng 36 iba pa. Kaugnay niyan, sumirit na sa 3.18 milyon ang apektadong mga residente nito, ayon sa NDRRMC.
Bukod pa riyan, nagdulot din ito ng P1.27 bilyong halaga ng pinsala sa sektor ng agrikultura. Bukod pa riyan, lagpas P896 milyon na rin ang estimated cost of damage sa infrastructure sa ngayon.
Lahat ng kagawaran at ahensya ng gobyerno ay inuutusan na ring makipagtulungan sa mga lokal na pamahalaan para makapagbigay ng karagdagang basic services at facilities saa mga naapektuhan lugar.
"Law enforcement agencies, with support from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, are directed to undertake all necessary measures to ensure peace and order in affected areas," dagdag pa ni Bongbong.
Maaaring magdagdag ng mga lugar sa ilalim ng satte of calamity kung gugustuhin ng presidente, lalo na't isasang-alang-alang pa rin ang pumapasok na pinsala at rekomendasyon ng NDRRMC.
Anong epekto ng state of calamity?
Ayon sa Republic Act 10121, tumutukoy ang state of calamity sa:
... condition involving mass casualty and/or major damages to property, disruption of means of livelihoods, roads and normal way of life of people in the affected areas as a result of the occurrence of natural or human-induced hazard.
Epektibo ring nagpapatupad ng "automatic price control" sa mga batayang pangangailangang ibinebenta sa mga lugar na nasasakupan ng state of calamity, ayon sa R.A. 7581.
Hangga't hindi binabawi ng presidente, ang price control sa basic necessities ay magiging epektibo sa loob ng 60 na araw.
